A medical clinic that feels like home…

Dr. Farizani created the medical and operational foundation of Hillcroft Physicians, PA. with the assistance of other physicians and expanded the clinic and its mission to become the second largest family care clinic in Houston. Dr. Farizani speaks English, Farsi and Spanish.

Dr. Farizani is actively involved with teaching- presently she is a clinical assistant professor for Sam Houston University College of Osteopathic Medicine, training medical students and a preceptor for UT Arlington Nurse Practitioner program. Additionally, she has taught Baylor College of Medicine medical students and medical physician assistants. Besides being a dedicated physician, she is a mother of two and her hobbies include yoga, cooking, and gardening.

Under Dr. Farizani’s direction, Hillcroft Physicians began seeing patients in the Gulfton/Sharpstown area which is one of the most densely and diversly populated areas of Houston, known as the “Ellis Island of Houston”. The patient population in the immediate area typically had difficulty finding healthcare providers that are willing and able to meet their medical needs given the ever-diminishing reimbursements paid for those sorely needed services.

Hillcroft Physicians has become a well-known and well-respected healthcare provider to the area’s patient population and has served several generations of patients’ families throughout its existence. Hillcroft Physicians understands how to operate successfully and effectively in the mostly Medicaid insured environment that imposes strict care delivery guidelines as well as complex medical coverage requirements for providers.

Dr. Farizani and her provider team at Hillcroft Physicians has a proven track record successfully managing the health of the Medicaid patient and eliminating the need for patients to seek primary medical care at a hospital emergency room. This is achieved by educating the Medicaid patient on how they can manage their own health and the use of successful preventative care strategies to mitigate illness which in many cases also becomes the tradition for the patient’s entire family to model. This is not an easy task given the one of the most culturally diverse patient populations in the Greater Houston area.

Hillcroft Physicians provides high-quality medical services to numerous newly and established immigrants from many countries entering the United States despite the many difficult ethnic and cultural challenges they must contend with. These patients present not only a multitude of medical and psychological challenges but also a complex set of regulatory requirements from the government agencies involved.

As a means of accommodating the many religious and cultural preferences of its’ clients, Hillcroft Physicians employ medical and clinic staff who speak the patients’ languages and understand their cultural beliefs and restrictions. The U.S. Government, especially from 2009 to 2015, increased the number of new immigrant arrivals. Many of those newly emigrated found their way to the Houston area and Hillcroft Physicians Clinic.

This patient population’s cultural needs are always respected as many of them are receiving more comprehensive medical care than at any other time of their lives. Hillcroft Physicians addresses this challenge primarily by employing physicians, mid-level providers and clinic staff that come from similar origins as the immigrant population treated. This makes the patient-care environment much more comfortable for the patient and supports a successful patient-to-provider relationship. This unique care approach has singled out Hillcroft Physicians as the benchmark for other clinics in Houston and outside the Greater Houston area to model themselves after.
